Wurtsboro, NY – An HO scale model built from plans in Mainline Modeler, some photos of the real thing, and some help from Walt K and Mal H. Materials are Grandt Line doors and windows, Northeastern wood, Plastruct brick, and Northeaster Scale Models shingles. The switch engine is from Concor and was custom painted.

Ocean City, NJ is a few miles south of Atlantic City, and is now served by New Jersey Transit. The station has been restored and is still in use. The HO scale model was built from photos and a floor plan of the space available on the layout in its new home. I should have had an ocean backdrop for the photo, or at least a flat village scene.

About three years ago I built a HO scale model of the Webb, NH Depot, which was on the B&M branch that ran up to Bellows Falls, Vt. Jim Dufor supplied the prototype photo, and the model was built for him. He recently sent me a photo of the finished scene on his layout.

Al Seebach, owner of The Old and Weary Car Shop, has produced some fine O&W kits in the past, and since he grew up in the area, is also making New York, West Shore and Buffalo structure kits as well. Not only was he able to find plans for the NYWS&B freight houses built in the late 1800s, he also came up with photos of 5 of them. The kits include parts to make each of the various configurations. Orangeburg had the door and steps on the left and had brown trim, while the Tappan station had the steps to the left and had green trim. Here’s the two freight stations that I just completed for him.

Two shots of the town of Ophir, Colorado, on the Rio Grande Southern railroad, as modeled in HOn3 by Bob Hamm. I built the structures from plans and photos that Bob provided. Bob took the photos.
